Non Urban Land for Sale The area of North Arm Cove was surveyed back in 1918 as part of the City of Port Stephens which was never built. At one point in time it was considered as a possible site for the Capital but that did not eventuate either. In the 60's part of the foreshore was opened up as residential land and is much as it is today. In the 80's developer's were able to sell the land as to the 1918 survey, in residential block size, even though the land was still zoned Rural. It remains so to this day. You cannot build on these blocks until the zoning is changed to Residential. On the Great Lakes Web Site you will find when the next review of zoning may occur.
